Contributions of the developed thesis

  1. We have revealed in broader terms the nature and the role of safety culture using the principles of ensuring safety and health, allowing us to present methodological guidance for the system health and safety control. By employing the constituted approach for assessment of the workplace we have built a model of “health and safety at work.” We have conducted an analysis, which confirms and expands the knowledge about the basic concepts of health and safety.
  2. We have proposed a methodological basis for the safety and health at work metrics, built on the risk characteristics and based on a comparative assessment and on the regulatory requirements. Based on comparative analysis of risk assessment and management systems we have proposed a methodology with a rating scale.
  3. We have proposed a methodological basis for determining requirements that can be upgraded as a normative base, capable of providing safety education, training and work in the school. The analysis was conducted on the methodological basis of health and safety in the university, which allows to build health education, training and culture. We have developed a model for formation of the healthy lifestyle of the future professionals.
  4. We have presented the results of the conducted survey on satisfaction with the safety climate in schools and universities. We have proposed a principle structuring of the types of questions. The analysis of the results of the answers to the questions forms guidelines for improving the safety climate.
